Man Dies After Getting Ejected in a Rollover Crash in Akron

A male driver lost his life following a rollover crash in Akron. According to the Akron police, the accident happened early Saturday morning, May 22nd. A news report disclosed that the 57-year-old driver lost control of his vehicle while traveling on Interstate 76.

The report further revealed that the victim was westbound on the interstate in a Ford Focus after the rollover crash in Akron. He was near the north end of the Kenmore leg. At about 1:30 a.m., the man lost control of the car, striking a construction signal board.

The impact caused the vehicle to spin and roll several times. The man was ejected in the process, and he died at the accident scene. The police believe that speed played a role in the crash as witnesses informed them that the Ford traveled at high speed.

The Summit County Medical Examiner’s Office is conducting an autopsy on the victim. They withheld his name pending positive identification and notification of next-of-kin. There is no additional information at this time.

Speed is a leading contributor to motor vehicle accidents in the United States. When drivers go over the legal speed limit, they find it hard to stop the vehicle in time to avoid a collision. This is why traffic regulating agencies advise drivers to maintain the posted speed limit always.

In a traffic collision involving another vehicle, the speeding driver will be at fault for the incident. It means that the motorist will be liable to pay compensation to the other party. Damages here cover personal injuries and property damage.

Usually, the fault driver’s auto insurance policy covers the damages. But when the driver does not have active insurance, they will pay out-of-pocket. Find out more about this from our Ohio auto accident attorneys.
