A car crash in Germantown claimed the lives of three people while injuring two kids and one adult male. The accident occurred at about 4 p.m. on Friday, April 30th. The German Township Police investigators described the accident as a rollover crash from two vehicles colliding against each other.
According to a news report, the collision happened in the 8900-block of State Route 4 near Eby Road in German Township. The police said a northbound car on Route 4 collided with a southbound minivan. The vehicle reportedly went off the right side of the roadway, overcorrected, and went across the road.
German Township Police Chief Joseph Andzik said the cars collided at a T-bone angle. Medics conveyed the two injured children to Dayton Children’s Hospital, and they were in critical condition. A woman in the car the children rode in and two women in the minivan died.
The male driver of the minivan suffered injuries and received treatment at a local hospital. The police chief said all the victims are from the greater Valley View community. The Montgomery County Coroner’s Office identified the fatal victims as Rebecca Roberts, 61, her daughter, Katie Roberts, 30, and Ashley Mance, 26.
Andzik said they have not determined if speed played a role in the occurrence, but there was no indication of alcohol impairment. He added that a black or dark-colored vehicle might have been a part of the car crash in Germantown, but they did not know if the other vehicles struck it. The investigation is ongoing, and anyone with info on the missing vehicle should contact the German Township Police.
