A two-vehicle collision in Pickaway County recorded one fatality where U.S Route 22 intersects with Bolender Pontius Road. The collision in Pickaway County happened on Sunday night, September 12th. Failure to obey a stop sign appeared to have caused the accident.
According to the Pickaway County Sheriff’s Office, the fatal victim, Kieshawn Hartley, 24, of Columbus, was a passenger in one of the vehicles involved in the crash. It occurred at approximately 8:19 p.m. The victim was one out of three people in a 2000 Toyota traveling on Bolender Pontius Road.
The car failed to stop at a stop sign at the intersection and struck a 2007 Honda Minivan, heading east on U.S. 22. Hartley sustained fatal injuries, and Pickaway County Coroner Dr. John Ellis pronounced him dead at the crash scene. 22-year-old Mikayla Cooper of Circleville, the Toyota driver, sustained undisclosed injuries, and MedFlight flew the victim to Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center.
Air Evac conveyed another passenger in the vehicle, 20-year-old Josiah Montogomery of Circleville, to Grant Medical Center for treatment. 36-year-old Angela Fowler of Lancaster drove the Honda, and she received treatment at Fairfield Medical Center. A juvenile in the Honda also suffered injuries and received treatment at Nationwide Children’s Hospital.
There is no update on the conditions of the injured people. The Pickaway County Sheriff’s Office is heading the investigation into the occurrence. There is no additional information.
