Hit and Run Turns Into Vehicle Theft and High-Speed Pursuit

On August 13th and Hamilton County Sheriff's Office responded to an accident call and Sycamore Township. The driver, now in custody, Jordan Gary Johnson, comes from a Terre Haute, Indiana. Initially, he was exiting off of Interstate 275, Eastbound, and entering onto US Route 22. His Dodge Ram struck a Porsche Cayman, but Johnson did not remain at the scene.

The driver of the Porsche, Brian Thomas, a 54-year-old man from Loveland, experienced injuries but was not seriously hurt.

Eventually, the F-350 struck another vehicle, then crashed through a closed garage door of a business and hit two parked vehicles inside that garage. This brought the chase to a close. The chase did reach speeds oaf 80 miles per hour.

On August 14th Johnson appeared in court for charges relating to robbery, failure to comply with police officers are, and failure to stop at an accident. The judge determined that Johnson would have a $501,000 bond. At this time Johnson remains in jail. At the bail hearing, Johnson's attorney did ask for a competency exam.
